HORSES HELP US LEARN AND GROW

Back to the barn

Horses Help Us To Find Peace Of Mind

Equine assisted psychotherapy (mental growth, development & learning) is effective because it embraces the fact that humans learn best by doing. Horses interact with clients to identify fears, doubts, pain, and difficulty. They can help us learn how to build new relationships & strengthen existing ones; with their help find ways to deal successfully with life's challenges.

Client Based

Clients are given the space to analyze their situations, make connections, & find their own solutions. Since the solutions are personally experienced in conjunction with intellectual understanding, they tend to be more profound.

Reasearch Driven

There is a growing body of positive scientific research in the area of equine assisted growth, learning and development. EGALA, the model we use, is the  standard. It is embraced by veterans groups, the military, and many other recognized mental health organizations worldwide.

Horse-Client-Horse Specialist- Mental Health Person

The Eagala Model is a team approach that includes a licensed mental health professional, a tested/certified equine specialist, and horses all working together with the client in an arena, round pen or pasture at all times.

What to expect

All work is done on the ground with the horses front and center, never ridden, and allowed to interact with the client as they wish, checking each other out. This creates the space for the client, with the support of the professional facilitators, to reflect, project, and make deep connections

Body Language

Horses are expert at reading human body language and communicating their feelings to the equine specialists. Horses can tell how well you are emotionally - even if you don't know. Amazing discoveries are made by the horse therapist!
